What is the main composition of honey?

Honey is 95% to 99% sugar if you don’t count water. This sugar is mostly fructose and glucose, but also contains some probiotic sugars to maintain the healthy gut flora our gut needs. Plus, most honeys contain vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that help with digestion.

  1. How is natural honey made from honey?

When you drink honey water, you probably never thought it would be bee vomit, right? The bee collects all the delicious nectar, stores it in a special second stomach nectar, and spit it out to pass on to another bee who is doing the same. Finally, store the honey in the hive. The bees beat their wings to cool the honey, which allows the water to evaporate and thicken the honey even more.

  1. How many flowers might bees need to visit to make 1 pound of honey?

The 60,000 bees in a hive may travel as much as 55,000 miles in search of suitable flowers. The type of flower determines the color and taste of the honey.

  1. Can drinking honey relieve pollen allergy?

Honey contains a small amount of pollen. In theory, eating honey could teach your body not to react to pollen. But this doesn’t hold, probably because the types of pollen commonly found in honey don’t trigger allergies, but trees, grasses, and weeds.

  1. Why should children under the age of 1 drink honey?

This is very rare, but wild honey can carry a “sleeping” bacteria called botox. Because babies can’t digest honey quickly, Botox wakes up and produces dangerous toxins in the gut. Constipation is the first symptom of botulism in infants, and other symptoms include weakness and difficulty sucking or feeding. Therefore, never give your child honey, even a little bit, until the child is 1 year old.

  1. Can honey relieve the symptoms of a baby’s cough?

The American Academy of Pediatrics warns against giving over-the-counter cough syrup or cold medicine to children younger than 6 years old. Honey may be a good choice for children over 1 year old.

  1. Honey helps wound healing, how to use it?

The ancient Greeks and Romans used honey to bandage wounds, as did the Russians and Germans in World War I. In addition, honey also seems to help prevent infection.

  1. What diseases may honey be beneficial for?

Honey can treat pink eye, diarrhea, and burns, and may also help with hemorrhoids, cold sores, and more. Honey is rich in antioxidants, can eat all the “free radicals” that can damage cells, and has anti-inflammatory properties.
